The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) is the leas apex administration for community-driven development in the country. In order to access the medium-term impact on the beneficiaries under the 47th batch of funding approval, the PPAF has planned to carry out the second phase of the survey. The exercise shall provide timely reliable, qualitative, and in-depth information as an indicator of outcomes to PPAF management and all important stakeholders.
The specific objective of the second phase of the User Beneficiaries Assessment Survey are to assess the medium-term impact of PPAF program/project level interventions on the direct beneficiaries and to integrate these into program activities.
Assessment includes interviews of a beneficiary of the PPAF program/project such as capacity building (training), social mobilization, health, education, community physical infrastructure, water, energy, and microcredit, etc.
The services provided by the firm included qualitative and quantitative information to monitor project direction. 2000 households beneficiary questionnaires, 41 FGDs/checklists/profile of villages were conducted. The firm reviewed project documents, designed research instruments, mobilized and trained enumerators and supervisors. Results were compiled using CSPro/SPSS and the cleaned dataset was presented to the client.
Focus areas for the survey were Water Energy and Infrastructure, Education, Health, Livelihood Enhancement and Protection, Social Mobilization & Institutional Development, Micro Credit.
The assignment covered 21 districts in four provinces, 48 male and female field researcher, 16 field supervisors, 1 data manager, and 2 technical experts (analyst & report writers) were involved in the completion of the assignment. A final report, with the triangulated findings of the qualitative and quantitative research, was compiled as the final deliverables to the client.
