Literacy Mapping in Pakistan

Project Description

NCHD is working on social sector improvement with the interrelated components of Universal Primary Education (UPE), adult literacy, and gender empowerment program. NCHD assigned an assignment to APEX Consulting Pakistan to map all the information relevant to the Adult Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education (AK/NFBE) programs from 1998-2007. The objective of this exercise was the provision of all the relevant background information that would be used in the development of a National Literacy Plan.

Services provided by APEX

The core tasks of the APEX in the mapping exercise was:

1. Review of all AL/NFBE programs and policies.
2. Qualitative and quantitative information collection.
3. Field verification of the collected information (spot-checking of operating literacy centers).
4. Compilation, review, and analysis of the collected information.
5. The report, program, and presentation development.
