Project Description

The objective of the conflict trend analysis was to estimate the trends of conflict and its impact on the education service delivery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the specific focus on the following 10 districts:

Hangu, Shangla, Charsadda, Tank, Kohistan, DI Khan, Bannu, Swat, Lakki Marwat, Buner

The study was forward-looking in nature, in the sense that historic event was to be recorded but its impact on the future was the key objective. In-depth information about the ongoing situation and recommendations to improve the education level and status were provided through this study.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided were both primary and secondary research including desk review, focus group discussions, community-level dialogues, and consultative meetings with GoKP. Key services provided by the APEX includes:

  1. Research tools development and translation.
  2. Training of field enumerators.
  3. Data collection from 50 schools of 10 districts of KP.
  4. FGD's conducted one in each district, comprised of teachers, students, parents, clergies, local civil societies, community notables, and government officials.
  5. Meetings with relevant government officials, representatives of the education department, P&D, Home, PDMA, PCNA secretariat (P&D), police, and politicians (district and provincial).
  6. Provision of technical services for data entry and data analysis services to be performed at the central level as well as review and disaggregation/relay of secondary information.
  7. A comprehensive report and presentation.
