Project Description

USAID Pakistan started emergency relief response in thematic program areas, that is, Shelter, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education, and Child Protection across the country. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, the emergency response operation, identifying gaps, issues and difficulties faced by women and reporting to the field offices on regular basis, USAID selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (ACP) as a partner to provide rapid assessment and monitoring services to USAID and OFDA.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm including preparation of a work plan that details the approaches/methodologies, timelines, and milestones associated with the consultancy, development, and refinement of monitoring framework and tools that were responsive to the respective interventions of USAID's implementing partners being monitored. APEX mobilized and trained 9 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and one female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research, field teams used checklists, monitoring guidelines, and observations to collect information about Shelter, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education and Child Protection. Weekly and monthly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Weekly and monthly monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hubs/field offices of USAID.
