Project Description

Save the Children (SC) planned to conduct a baseline survey for improving community health in Swabi. ICH Swabi was conducted in all four tehsils of district Swabi. The specific objective of the study was as follows:

  1. To generate data by using appropriate quantitative methods in key program elements i.e. malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, and acute malnutrition and caretaker knowledge, attitude, practices, access, and use of child health services in district Swabi.
  2. To review and analysis of institutional governance structures of four tehsils of Swabi district.
  3. To determine the cuffed, its availability of key health services and quality regarding the management of cases of malaria, pneumonia, dither, malnutrition.
  4. To assess the provision and current utilization of outpatient health facilities by mothers and children <5 years of age.

 

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included research tools refinement and translation, training of field enumerators, data collection 61 locations of district Swabi, data editing and coding, data analysis, baseline report development. Data editing was done by professional researchers and data entered in Census Survey Program (CSPro). After data entry frequency tables were generated for cleaning. Data analysis was done using the statistical package (SPSS). The whole exercise was done in close coordination of the client.
