Project Description

The objective of the Livelihood Recovery Appraisal was to evaluate the extent to which rural households have recovered in terms of livelihood and food security from 2011 and/or 2010 floods -- with a focus on Sindh and Baluchistan. To give insights into the impact and effectiveness of the interventions designed to support livelihood and food security recovery. The major objective of the LRA was to understand problems and issues that remain for livelihood recovery and the implications for future programming for the three different scenarios.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided were the provision of Islamabad based one team leader and one national coordinator for the technical coordination of LRA who supported directly to FAO Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordination Unit (ERCU). Provision of two province-based support staff. Provision of 20 technical survey teams (composed of one supervisor, one female enumerator, and one male enumerator) to conduct 5,380 households level interviews at the village level in 15 districts of Sindh (Badin, Dadu, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Kashmore, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Qambar Shahdadkot, S. Benazirabad, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Tharparkar, Thatta, Umerkot). Provision of translation services for written questionnaire/data entry sheets. Provision of technical services for data entry performed at the central level at Islamabad. The survey report was submitted to the client after completion of field activity.
