Project Description

UNICEF Pakistan is actively involved in the promotion of the well-being of target children and women in thematic program areas, that is, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Education, and Child Protection, and Polio & PMER (MICS) intervention across Balochistan. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, ensure better oversight and wider field coverage, identifying gaps, issues, and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices on a regular basis. UNICEF selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (APEX) as a partner to provide field monitors/reporters working under provisional hubs/field offices of UNICEF.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included the development and refinement of instruments to monitor UNICEF's implementing partner activities in Balochistan. APEX mobilized and trained 04 monitoring teams consisting of 08 field monitors with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research. Field teams used monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Health, Water and Sanitation, Education, and Child Protection. Weekly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Daily monitoring updates were also reported to provisional hubs/field offices of UNICEF. APEX also designed web-based M&E reporting system to enables, field staff, to monitoring updates on daily basis and results can be viewed globally through internet access.
