Project Description

UNICEF Pakistan started an emergency relief program in thematic program areas, that is, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Education, and Child Protection across the country. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, the emergency response operation, identifying gaps, issues and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices in on a regular basis, UNICEF selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (ACP) as a partner to provide male and female monitors/reporters working under each of the provincial/field offices of UNICEF.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included development and refinement of instruments to monitor UNICEF's implementing partner's activities in all flood-affected districts of Sindh. APEX mobilized and trained 04 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and one female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research. Field teams used a checklist, monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Health, Water Sanitation, Education, and Child Protection. Weekly and monthly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Daily monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hub/field offices of UNICEF.
