Project Description

The objective of the baseline survey was to assess the education conditions surrounding the science education of pilot and control schools prior to the implementation of a project for the promotion of student-centered and inquiry-based science education in Pakistan. The objective of the survey was to collect the baseline data in order to analyze the impact of the project at the end of the project by comparing it with the end line data at the end of the project.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the APEX included: development of research instruments/questionnaire in close coordination with the client, training and mobilizing the filed teams, and selection of educational experts. The field teams conducted Primary Education Baseline Survey in all the schools situated in the Islamabad Capital Territory. The research instruments included student, teacher assessment questionnaire, Class Observation sheets, and in-depth interviews with the Principal/Head Master, more than 9,000 questionnaires were collected in the project. These instruments were entered in CSPro for cleaning and the cleaned data was then entered into SPSS for statistical analysis. The final report was drafted for the client which included the data analysis, findings, and recommendations.
