ssaUNICEF Pakistan started emergency relief response in thematic program areas, that is, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Education, and Child Protection across the country. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, the emergency response operations, identifying gaps, issues, and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices on regular basis, UNICEF selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (ACP) as a partner to provide male and female field monitors/reporters working under provisional offices of UNICEF.
The services provided by the firm included development and refinement of instruments to monitor the UNICEF's implementing partners activities in all flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. APEX mobilized and trained 06 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and one female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research. Field teams used monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Health, Water and Sanitation, Education, and Child Protection. Weekly and monthly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Daily monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hubs/field offices of UNICEF.
