Project Description

With European Union financial support, the provincial government launched the Sindh Union Council and Community Economic Strengthening Support (SUCCESS) Programme in eight poor rural districts in Sindh in 2015. The SUCCESS Programme was implemented by the Rural Support Programme Network (RSPN) and three of its RSPs from Sindh - Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO), Thardeep Rural Development Programme (TRDP) and National Rural Support Programme (NRSP). SRSO hired services of APEX to conduct a socioeconomic baseline survey in its respective two districts of SUCCESS Programme. For this survey, data on socioeconomic profiling was collected through Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI). Key indicators of data collection were household demographics, health, farm and non-farm income, livestock, savings, loans, assets, nutrition, vaccination and access and use of public services.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firms included finalization of the survey questionnaire, designing software for CAPI data collection, detailed survey manual, the hiring of subject specialist and field staff, training of enumerators, data collection, data processing, analysis and socioeconomic report development.
