Project Description

UNHCR has recently expanded its support in terms of activities (Quick Impact Projects -- QIPs) to extended geographical areas including FATA under RAHA programs. The projects included educational projects, drinking water supply schemes (hand pumps, dug, wells, pressure pumps, solar panel pumps, water tanks, distribution systems, etc.) irrigation channels and livelihood enhancing activities. The objective of the assignment is to ensure that projects are implemented as per specified/agreed quality and work plans. PMU-RAHA selected APEX to perform top-supervision inclusive certification, technical backstopping for the implementation partner. PMU-RAHA and troubleshoot when required.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included technical review and re-validation of the proposed activities, monitoring, and certification of the work and conducted a feasibility study for new potential projects submitted to the FATA taskforce. APEX mobilized and trained 02 monitoring teams consisted of field monitors and civil engineers with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, social research, and civil development work. Field teams used monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about health, Water and Sanitation, Education, Child Protection, and Community Physical Infrastructure. Bi-weekly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories. Daily monitoring updates were also reported to the PMU office.
