Project Description

The Skills Development Council Peshawar was constituted by the Ministry of Labor, Manpower, and Overseas Pakistanis and has been established as an employers-led autonomous tripartite model of Public and Private Partnership in Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT). The objective of the Training Need Assessment Survey was to assess the training needs of small, medium, and large scale industries/establishments from both formal and informal in five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included, in the first stage, instrument design for both formal and informal sectors, identification of sectors including service, construction, automobile, light engineering and ceramic, glass and marble products in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, and district Haripur. APEX collected data from 225 units from five targeted districts. Ten persons were deployed in the field including enumerators and senior field data collectors. The assignment objectives were achieved by employing both qualitative and quantitative tools. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The quantitative data supplemented by the qualitative research involving Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key-Informant interviews with various stakeholders. Qualified statistician performed analysis using sophisticated statistical packages from quantitative data.
