ssaThe "Rural Women's Economic Empowerment through Enhanced Participation in South Punjab's Dairy Sector" project aims economically empower poor rural women, their families, and communities by strengthening the dairy sector in Southern Punjab and increasing the participation and decision-making capacity of Pakistani women in supplying quality milk to the market. The project overall goal is to increase access to and control economic resources for women through a strengthened dairy sector. The project implemented in 03 districts (Vehari, Muzaffargarh, Layyah) in southern Punjab. Plan Pakistan commissioned this study to prepare a baseline of indicators and gender assessment for the project.
The services provided by the firm included qualitative and quantitative information to monitor project direction. 400 household questionnaires, 13 FGDs were conducted. APEX reviewed the project documents, designed research instruments, mobilized and trained field monitors and supervisors. Results were compiled using CSPro/SPSS and a cleaned data set was presented to the client.
Focus areas for the survey were gender assessment and women empowerment through the dairy sector. A detailed dairy sector policy review was also done.
The assignment covered three districts in Punjab province, 15 male and female field researchers, 03 field supervisors, 01 data manager, and 03 technical experts (analyst and report writers) who were involved in the completion of the assignment. A final report, with the triangulated findings, were submitted to the client as the last deliverable.
