Project Description

UNICEF Pakistan through its partners launched a Sanitation Programme at Scale in Pakistan (SPSP) phase-II to mitigate the grave needs of the people related to sanitation in Pakistan. UNICEF engaged APEX to measure progress in reducing the barriers and bottlenecks that prevent or delay program results at the local level based on regular real-time assessments of the quality of PATA process implementation. The proposed M&E framework was to facilitate UNICEF and it's implementing partners by adding values to their existing work so that they can ensure the efficiency of service delivery, quality of the program and its implementation.

Services provided by APEX

APEX provided 21 field monitors (both male and female), 04 field coordinator, 01 national coordinators, and one team lead in the 14 districts of Punjab, KPK, Sindh, and Balochistan. All field coordinators and field monitors participated in training arranged by APEX and field staff placed on an agreed location immediately after attending the training workshop. APEX responsibility included mobilization of field monitoring teams, collection of IP's work plan and progress reports to prepare output tracker for analysis, field monitoring visits for ongoing monitoring and validation, collection of data from training (ToT, PATS/CALTS, etc.) participants about training materials, trainer's knowledge and the pace of learning, health surveillance data collection and validation of ODF village certification and submit monthly reports to UNICEF. APEX reviewed strategy documents along with roles and responsibilities and carried out the responsibilities as outlined in the documents together as well as discussed in the orientation workshop f the field staff.
