Project Description

Construction Technology Training Institute (CTTI) was established in 1986 under Japanese grant scheme to serve as a training and educational center for engineers in road maintenance machinery.  CTTI with cooperation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) initiated 5-year Third Country Training Course on Operation and Maintenance of Construction Machinery, which provided training to about 300 engineers from neighboring developing countries.  To investigate Program’s relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability, JICA Pakistan engaged the Consultants to evaluate the Program.

Services provided by APEX

The Consultants employed a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate performance of the training Program in terms of planning, management of training program, usefulness of course contents, training processes, contribution towards building knowledge and skills of the participants, and overall effectiveness of the training.  Quantitative information was collected through semi-structured self-administered questionnaires while semi-structured questionnaire were used for qualitative information collection.  One Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with participants of the fifteenth training program.  The Consultants compiled and analyzed the data in-house and used the findings generated from qualitative and quantitative for the recommendations.
