ssaUSAID's Entrepreneurs Project aims to significantly increase the income of 75,000 micro-entrepreneurs and small enterprise owners, the majority of whom are women, across the four provinces of Pakistan. The project is designed to build and strengthen local institutions to support those entrepreneurs, as well as cultivate sustainable market channels, specifically enabling women to access better markets. In the project, there were 04 entrepreneur's value chains i.e. Dairy, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAP), Hand Embellished Fabrics (HEFs), and Honey through seven key facilitating partners (KFPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, and Baluchistan. In order to regular M&E of the entrepreneur's value chain program in selected districts of the four provinces APEX selected as the third party for M&E firm.
The services provided by the firm included a selection of representative samples from the project assisted beneficiaries for verification purposes. APEX mobilized and trained 06 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and two female monitors with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development, and social research. Field teams used monitoring guidelines, and observations to collect information about activities of value chains. Monthly reports were submitted to the client, presenting possibilities, gaps, and success stories.
