Project Description

UNICEF Pakistan started emergency relief response in thematic program areas, that is, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Education and Child Protection across the country.  To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, the emergency response operation, identifying gaps, issues and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices on regular basis, UNICEF  selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (ACP) as a partner to provide male and female field monitors/reporters working under provincial offices of UNICEF.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firms included development and refinement of instruments to monitor the UNICEF’s implementing partners activities in all flood affected districts of Sindh province.   Our firm mobilized and trained 7 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and one female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development and social research. These teams were supervised by Coordinator North and South.   Field teams used checklist, monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Health, Water and Sanitation, Education and Child Protection.  Weekly and monthly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps and success stories.  Daily monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hubs/field offices of UNICEF.
