Short summary of Project

USAID’s Entrepreneurs Project aims to significantly increase the incomes of 75,000 micro-entrepreneurs and small enterprise owners, majority of whom are women, across the four provinces of Pakistan. The project is designed to build and strengthen local institutions to support those entrepreneurs, as well as cultivate sustainable market channels, specifically enabling women to access better markets. In the Project there were 04 entrepreneur’s value chains i.e., Dairy, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAP), Hand Embellished Fabrics (HEF) and Honey through seven Key facilitating Partners (KFPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab and Sindh and Balochistan. In order to regular M&E of the Entrepreneurs value chain program in selected districts of the four provinces APEX selected as third party for M&E firm.

The services provided by the firms included selection of representative samples from the Project assisted beneficiaries for verification purposes as well as for gauging impact through rapid assessment surveys. Focus group discussions and key informant interviews carried out to triangulate information from the rapid assessment surveys. Also our firm mobilized and trained 06 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and two female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development and social research. Field teams used checklist, monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about activities of value chains. Monthly and quarterly reports were submitted to Client, presenting possibilities, gaps and success stories.
