Innovative Rapid Assessment and Monitoring in Sindh
Short summary of Project
USAID Pakistan started emergency relief response in thematic program areas, that is, Shelter, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education and Child Protection across the country. To assist the field offices in regular monitoring, the emergency response operation, identifying gaps, issues and difficulties faced by women and children and reporting to the field offices on regular basis, USAID selected APEX Consulting Pakistan (ACP) as a partner to provide rapid assessment and monitoring services to USAID and OFDA.
The services provided by the firms included preparation of a work plan that details the approaches/methodologies, timelines and milestones associated with the consultancy, development and refinement of monitoring framework and tools that were responsive to the respective interventions of USAID’s implementing partners being monitored. Our firm mobilized and trained 9 monitoring teams where each team consisted of one male and one female monitor with experience in program monitoring, reporting, community development and social research. Field teams used checklists, monitoring guidelines and observations to collect information about Shelter, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, Livelihood, Education and Child Protection. Weekly and monthly monitoring reports were submitted presenting possibilities, gaps and success stories. Weekly and monthly monitoring updates were also reported to provincial hubs/field offices of USAID.
