Baseline Survey in Tank and Hangu
Short summary of Project
A part from socio cultural barriers seen as implications of historical antecedents, the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been witnessing a deterioration of law and order situation and upsurge of militant activities over the past years. Peoples trust and confidence in the institutions and authorities has far reaching consequences as far as the establishment of writ of the government and rule of law are concerned, an understanding of which in turn is essential to design and Implement any rule of law reform policies and actions. UNDP’s Strengthening Rule of Law Project (SRLP) intended to strengthen the capacities of the rule of law and justice services actors for enhanced services delivery so that the trust and confidence of general public is improved.
In this context that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) intended to undertake a baseline study as a way to explore the priorities for expansion of its Rule of Law project activities in two additional southern districts of KP, namely, Tank and Hangu. UNDP hired APEX Consulting Pakistan for this study. The services provided by the firms included development of research design, training of field researchers, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analysis and baseline report.
