Data Collection for Impact Evaluation Rule of Law Programme
Short summary of Project
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Strengthening Rule of Law in Malakand (SRLM) Project was initiated in 2011 in seven districts of the Malakand Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province with a view to improve access to justice by strengthening rule of law institutions. The project has focused on a number of key outputs of which alternative justice mechanism (AJM) is one. Under the AJM output, the Project engages with local dispute resolution mechanisms including the traditional Jirga's, musalihati committees which will become the Panel of conciliators, and community based paralegals.
The APEX Consulting Pakistan was hired to collect data for an impact assessment of the AJM output using a combination of quasi experimental and randomized controlled trial methodologies. The services provided by the firms included provision of field staff, training, data collection and data cleaning.
