Project Description

OMV (Pakistan) Exploration GmbH has been awarded Kuhan (operated) block, which covers a total area of 2498sq.km and lies in Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Bolan, and Kalat districts of Baluchistan province along with the small portion of Kambar Shahdadkot district of Sindh province. As the company sees Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the light of 10 principles of the UN’s Global Compact (UNGC), it wants to carry out baseline study, stakeholder analysis and engagement plan. The aim is to have verifiable qualitative and quantitative information on social and economic conditions of area along with identifying influential key stakeholders. The third part of the assignment is formal implementation of stakeholder engagement plan.

Services provided by APEX

The services provided by the firm included quantitative and qualitative data collection on socio-economic indicators of targeted districts of Baluchistan in Pakistan. 382 beneficiary questionnaires will be conducted in Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Bolan, and Kalat, Kambar Shahdadkot. The firm reviewed project documents, developed qualitative and quantitaive questionnaire. And a data entry file will be designed in CSPro. The field team (enumerators and supervisors) will be trained and mobilized. Results will be compiled using SPSS and cleaned data set will be presented to the client. The firm will design GIS maps soft files (kmz format) with marking of district boundaries, tehsil boundaries, union council boundaries, permanent settlements, water resources in the lease area, travel routes/road networks (both black top and gravel), all govt. institutions in the area (e.g. government schools, health centers, vocational centers, govt. The firm will identify and analyze of stakeholders involved in the targetd areas along with preparing a power tree. The assignment will be ended with a final report of baseline survey.
