Faced with globalizing markets, environmental disruption and dwindling government support, the poor are increasingly forced to look beyond their traditional means to sustain themselves. APEX works with communities to bridge the technology, skill and resource gap to restore livelihoods and diversify income sources.
APEX designs and manages interventions that enhance competitiveness and access to markets for small agribusinesses and other micro enterprises. Community members are provided skills training to increase the level of technology absorption. Financing is arranged through micro-finance schemes or small cash grants.
As part of our livelihood practice we also conduct evidence-based social and economic research to advise policy makers and assist civil society organizations in carrying out awareness and advocacy campaigns for the communities threatened by livelihood disruption.
